Your main activity will be swimming and relaxing on the beach or at one of Carillon’s four pools. If you are looking for more activities—or just need groceries or a toothbrush—please see below!
Basketball & Tennis
If you are staying at Carillon Beach, there are two tennis courts and a basketball court available for your use. They are near Bellview Park Pool and Playground.
Biking & Hiking
The beach is a great place to walk or jog, especially in the early mornings and evenings. The streets of Carillon, closed to outside traffic, are perfect for a leisurely bike ride.

Shuttle boats run every hour, 10am to 4pm in October, from St. Andrews State Park.
NOTE: October 20 is the last day they will definitely be running this year. Call to check schedule.

Lakefront casual dining with brick oven pizza, salads, wings and a full bar (our welcome/rehearsal dinner venue)
Candy Land & Sunrise Café
Across from Castaways on Market Street
This is a candy and ice cream shop with outdoor seating that serves breakfast (coffee, egg sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, etc.) in the morning. They also make smoothies! We had good scrambled eggs on croissants here.
Suite Carillon Wine Bar
Wine bar in the hotel lobby of the Carillon Inn
Bayou Bill’s Crab House
If you want good seafood—or just want to see a live gator!—and don’t want to go far, try Bayou Bill’s. It’s just around the corner from Carillon’s gates, near the Winn Dixie and CVS. (There is a second location in Santa Rosa, about a 20 minute drive west.)
23100 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach
West of Carillon:
Seaside is another beachside community about a 20-minute drive west of Carillon. It’s quaint with lots of shops and food options. We recommend Pickles for a quick snack, the Shrimp Shack for lunch, and Bud and Alley’s for a more leisurely meal. Frost Bites is a must for shaved ice. Fun fact: Seaside is where the Truman Show was filmed.
The Red Bar
Small, tasty menu (seafood and Italian) and lively atmosphere! (20-30 minute drive from Carillon)
70 Hotz Avenue, Santa Rosa Beach
Outdoor mall about 7 miles from Carillon with casual restaurants (Back Porch, Five Guys) and lots of stores (Marshall’s, Hallmark, Sunglass Hut, Target). A surprise find for us here was an olive oil store with 100s of oils and vinegars to taste. There’s also a Pepper Palace!
