The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP) near Panama City Beach in West Bay, FL, is 17 miles from Carillon, and this is where I recommend you fly. It is served by Delta (direct from Atlanta) and Southwest (direct from Baltimore, Houston, Nashville, and St. Louis). Please see www.iflybeaches.com for more information!
The Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS) in Ft. Walton is 48 miles from Carillon Beach, about an hour drive. See www.flyvps.com for more about this airport.
From the airport to Carillon Beach:
If you are not renting a car or having someone pick you up, I recommend arranging transportation with Sunshine Shuttle, (850) 650-6333. It is a $55 flat rate from ECP to Carillon ($105 from VPS) for up to 2 adults + $15 for each additional passenger. Book ahead of time. Taxis should also be available at the airport, cost varies.
Carillon Beach is a 4.75 hour drive from New Orleans, a 9 hour drive from Shreveport, and a 19 hour drive from NYC.
